Niche helps you find a partner — what happens after is your responsibility. We're committed to giving you every tool to make smart, safe decisions.
Every Niche member must verify their identity with a government-issued ID or driver's license before their profile goes live. This is not optional. It protects you from AI-generated profiles, catfishing, and bad actors — and it signals that every person you're talking to is a real, verified human being.
Common sense isn't always common. Here's what we recommend before, during, and after any meeting.
Don't share your personal phone number, email, or social media handles until you've built genuine trust. Use Niche messaging until you're ready.
First meetings should be in well-lit, public places with other people around. A coffee shop, restaurant, or park. Never at a private residence for your first in-person meeting.
Share the name, profile link, and meeting location with a trusted friend or family member before any in-person meeting. Check in with them after.
No legitimate partner arrangement requires you to send money, gift cards, crypto, or wire transfers to someone you haven't met in person. Treat any such request as a scam.
If something feels off — pressure to move fast, inconsistent stories, refusal to video chat — trust that gut feeling. You owe no one an explanation for ending a conversation.
A quick video call confirms the person matches their photos and is who they say they are. Anyone refusing to video chat before an in-person meet is a red flag.
We verify identity — but we don't run criminal history checks. For deeper peace of mind, especially before any significant commitment, you can use these independent services. We don't endorse any specific provider; these are widely-used public tools.
If you ever feel unsafe — before, during, or after a meeting — help is available 24/7.
